Volta NDC Threatens Mahama For Sacking Bani As Chief of Staff

An executive member of the NDC in the Volta Region, Mr. Emmanuel Tokeme has urged President Mahama to reinstate the former Chief of Staff, Mr. Prosper Bani before the NDC `s world bank turn to microfinance.

Prosper Bani was relieved of his position by President John Mahama who has now appointed Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Julius Debrah, to replace him but the executive member of the NDC in the Volta Region said he should be reinstated.

Speaking to Afia Pokua on Burning Issues, he revealed that the NDC’s World Bank (Volta Region) never knew about the relieving of Mr. Prosper Bani describing it as unfair for the whole of the region to hear such a shocking change at the Presidency.

“We are going for elections and it doesn’t sound well for us about relieving of Prosper Bani from his post because it is the grassroots that has made the NDC what it is today…,” he said.

Mr. Debrah was the Eastern Regional Chairman of the NDC, he was appointed head of the Ghana Tourist Board and later as Eastern Regional Minister.

He gained national prominence in 2014 when he was appointed Local Government Minister.

His relentless campaign against the filth in the country's cities, towns and villages, endeared him to many traditional and opinion leaders across the country.

Mr. Debrah has proven to have vast organizational skills and abilities.
