This Drama, Theatrical Performance Won't Restore Any Hope...Time For The Prez To Be Reshuffled!!!

This government is not doing anything…they intentionally interchange the positions of members of the team, especially government ministers once in a while to show that they are busy at work. But they are not…sometimes upon sober reflection, you ask yourself: where did we go wrong?”

The President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama has in the last couple of days been making changes at the Presidency ostensibly to inject new blood into his administration and galvanize them into action towards achieving the Better Ghana Agenda.

The recent shake-up sees the replacement of the Chief of Staff, Mr Prosper Bani with the Local Government Minister, Julius Debrah. A Deputy Minister for Works and Housing, Johnny Osei Kofi, is now the Deputy Chief of Staff.

A statement signed by the Communications Minister, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, added that Mr Bani will be appointed an Ambassador Extraordinaire and Plenipotentiary.

The President also appointed Baba Issifu Kamara, a Senior Adviser for Special Duties, as the new National Security Adviser

Analyzing the various changes at the Presidency and other ministerial reshuffle since he (Mahama) was elected President, the National Youth Organiser of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammy Awuku wondered why the President keeps restructuring with no 'positive change’ being felt in the lives of the citizenry.

We have had enough of these musical chairs,” he stated and added “it is time for the President to go”.

Sammy Awuku who was contributing to a panel discussion on PEACE FM's morning show ‘Kokrokoo’, noted that rather than things getting better whenever there is a reshuffle, they rather get worse under the Mahama-led administration.

“Since this government took over, the reshuffling has been massive but unfortunately there appears to be no positive change in the country. We were all here when the ECG boss was fired…up to now the situation has grown worse. This drama, theatrical performance will not restore any hope’. They are not serious about governance. I think as a country we have allowed mediocrity to creep in too much,” he charged.
