Blame Our Fore Fathers & Kwame Nkrumah For The DumSor - Kuntu Blankson

Former Member of Parliament for Ekumfi, George Kuntu Blankson has ascribed the current power crises to the foundation that the forefathers of the country set for Ghana.

Contributing to a panel discussion on "Kokrokoo" on Peace FM, Hon. Kuntu Blankson stressed that the suffering of Ghanaians resulting from the power shortages "dum sor" cannot be blamed on the Mahama administration.

According to him, President Mahama and his government are working hard to resolve the energy crisis.

He continued that due to the President's commitment to finding lasting solutions to the erratic power supply across the nation, the government has commenced a project at Ada in the Greater Accra Region by utilizing 'sea waves and storms' to generate electricity to communities in the country.

He also reminded Ghanaians that a company based in Dubai will be in the country in April this year to add 250 megawatts to boost the power supply to the nation.

However, Kuntu Blankson strongly believes the widely-held term "Dum sor" is a seed that was sown before the present generation even saw the light of day.

"The country's forefathers, including Kwamena Duncan's (a co-panelist on the show) ancestors, my forebearers...and Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana's first President cannot be absolved from blame in the wake of the erratic power supply and its consequences on the Ghanaian citizenry," Hon. Blankson noted.
