NDC Group 'OYA' Must Render An Apology

Our attention have been averted to the fact the NDC group OYA has called off their ill-intent 'March for Mahama' which was scheduled for this tuesday 24th Febuary for some unknown reasons.

It is however important to set the records straight

1. Movement for Change per the Public Order Act, 1994 (Act 491) notified the Ashanti Regional Police Commander on the 6th of Febuary 2015 providing all necessary information on the YA ABR3 DEMO to be embarked on on the 24th Febuary 2015.

2. The so called Organized Youth of Ashanti(OYA), an NDC group subsequently notified the Ashanti Region Police Command on the 10th. February 2015 of their intended march on the same date.

3. The Ashanti Regional Police PRO has since confirmed that the Movement for Change indeed presented their notification to the Police Command at an earlier date.

4. OYA was so adamant and insisted that they have done a lot of planning and mobilization so their march shall certainly come on.

5. In the face of these incontrovertible facts and per the Public Order Act, it is conspicuously clear that the Movement for Change having presented their notification at an earlier date should embark on their activity without any hindrance whatsoever but for the sake of public interest and peace we decided to rescheduled the 'YA ABR3 DEMO' to wednesday 25th Feb.

6. It is also regretable and irresponsible for leaders of this NDC group, Organized Youth of Ashanti (OYA) to engage in baseless and unfounded attacks and insults on the Ashanti Regional Police Command and falsely insinuated the Command is in bed with the NPP. These allegations are reprehensible and reckless to say the least which must be condemned.

In view of this, we call on the leaders of OYA to render an unqualified apology to the the people of Ashanti Region, the Ashanti Regional police command and members of Movement for Change for thier irresponsible and reckless behaviour.
