"Respect Nana"- Prez Mahama Salutes His Main Political Rival In Parliament

President John Dramani Mahama, in his State of the Nation Address on Thursday, paid homage to the Presidential candidate of the main opposition bench, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo.

Delivering his address on the floor of Parliament Thursday morning, President John Mahama who failed to recognize the presence of Nana Addo, flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) during his elegant entry into Parliament, however, seized an opportunity in the middle of his speech to rectify his oversight.

The president quickly acknowledged the presence of Nana Addo in the Legislative House for making time to witness his  (Mahama's) address to the nation.

President Mahama gleefully saluted Nana Addo saying "Respect Nana!".

Let me acknowledge his presence. We spent twelve wonderful years together in this chamber. And I’m sure that anytime we come here, we have a strong sense of nostalgia being with you, Members of Parliament. Thank you. Respect Nana!” President Mahama said.

He however gave an impression his oversight was as a result of protocol in the House not informing him earlier of Nana Addo's presence.
