Ashanti NDC Foot Soldiers Accuse Regional Chairman of Drawing Salary From NADMO

Ben Abdullah, the Secretary for the Coalition of National Democratic Congress (NDC) Foot-Soldiers in the Ashanti Region has alleged that the Regional Chairman of the ruling party is drawing salary from the coffers of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) even though he is not a worker.

Speaking on Okay FM with Kwame Nkrumah Tikesie, Mr. Abdullah was of the view that some of the greatest saboteurs in the Mahama-lead Administration are in the Ashanti Region and they are in the person of the Regional Chairman, Yaw Owusu Obimpeh and his cohorts.

“…if they dare us, we will say things that will destroy the NDC and President Mahama’s chances for 2016. He (Yaw Obimpeh) is dividing us because he feels okay. He is okay because he takes salary from NADMO every month but he does not work there.

“He is not to blame after all, he has sold all the ‘things’ that were sent from Accra to support the foot soldiers,” he said.

This revelation comes on the heels of a report of a planned demonstration against Mr. Obimpeh who party Foot Soldiers believe is the source of all the problems in the Region.

Ben Abdullah particularly accused his Regional Chairman of running a one man show and also warned him against scheming for the removal of the Regional Minister and the Regional Police Commander.

“…because he wants to have his way with everything in the Region, he is pushing for the removal of the Minister and the Police Commander. I also appeal to President Mahama to deal with the situation as quickly as possible in order to forestall any confusion which could derail his aim of getting one million votes in the region in the 2016 election,” he stated.
