A Christian book meant to get Christians, especially young Christians, addicted to the Word of God has been launched at the Sun Lodge hotel in Accra. The book has been recommended by several leading Christian leaders including Rev. Dr. Steven Wengam (Cedar Mountain Assemblies of God, East Legon) Rev. Steve Mensah (Charismatic Evangelistic Ministry-Accra), Bishop Ebenezer Obodai (Action Chapel Int�l) for discipling the Christian community. Launching the 188-page book titled �Becoming A Word Addict�, the Head Pastor of Words of Truth Covenant Family Ministry, the Rev. Abraham Nyarko exhorted every Christian to get a copy as it has over thirty (30) references and it was well-balanced theologically. He further advised that at a period where many young people are getting hooked on to different things, this is the right book for the times. The Guest Speaker at the launch event, lawyer and Women�s Rights Activist, Mrs Angela Dwamena Aboagye, said the book, authored by Raphael Donkor Jr can be likened to an encyclopaedia which is worth having. She also commended the author for his vision and passion to get people addicted to the word of God. Supporting the launch event, the Women�s leader for the Catholic Charismatic Renewal-Lego, (CCR), Mrs Philomina Nortey noted that the author was a deeply spiritual person who carried God�s presence, full of wisdom and scholarly undergirding�s. His book therefore is a product of his strong spiritual foundation. She encouraged all to get copies of the book because in her words �when you buy a book, you buy a person�. The author, Pastor Raphael Donkor Jr, 30 years of age, is currently a Master of Arts (Theology and Mission) degree student of Ghana�s premier theological university, Akrofi Christaller Institute of Theology, Mission and Culture in Akropong-Akuapem, Ghana (ACI). He indicated that his passion is to empower and develop every person to get addicted to Gods precious word and the habit of great reading. According to him, many people (especially young ones) get addicted to the wrong things-alcohol, drugs, sex, gambling and so on which end up destroying their lives. However, he has discovered that [Bible] Word Addiction is the foundation for a successful life of purity, faith and leadership. Sharing his life history, the Nutrition and Food Science graduate of the University of Ghana, Legon said he received a call of God on his life in his first year at the university. Ever since, he has had a growing passion for God�s word. This hunger to share God�s word has moved him to organize the monthly ��BECOMING A WORD ADDICT SEMINARS� (BAWAS) where he exposes the word of God to the participants. His seminars attract and welcome people from all backgrounds. The launch of this book is thus a fulfillment of that passion as according to Pastor Donkor Jr, �the inner man determines the legacy of the outer man hence the need to invest in God�s word.
