Kweku Baako, Editor-In-Chief of the New Crusading Guide, has implored President John Dramani Mahama to "pack" the sacked Ashanti Regional Minister, Samuel K. Sarpong and his deputy, Joseph Yamin somewhere far from the government.

Speaking on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo", Kweku Baako, who believed the Ashanti Regional Minister Mr. Samuel Sarpong was only a victim of circumstances, however, noted that the two government appointees' relieve from office will help the cause of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

“If I had the chance, I would tell the President to pack them somewhere…I’m sorry, Mr. Sarpong; you’re not really my target," he said.

Mr. Sarpong and his deputy were fired from their positions with immediate effect following a bizarre friction between some members of the ruling party and the leadership in the Ashanti Region.

A statement signed by Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Communications Minister indicated that the Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, Eric Opoku will act in their stead until a substantive Minister is appointed.

Though the cause for government's action remains hazy, the two are believed to have been sacked following the chaos that transpired at the ruling NDC office in the Ashanti Region after some angry looking NDC youth clashed.

In the wake of the fracas, Brogya Gyenfi, the Regional NDC Youth Organizer openly accused the Regional Minister of being behind the incident in an interview with host of the "Kokrokoo" show Kwami Sefa Kayi on Wednesday.

Some NDC members locked up the party's office to register their displeasure with the leadership.

According to the Regional Youth Organizer of the party, Mr. Sarpong cannot "exonerate himself from" what he calls a "storm in a teacup."

Addressing the issue further, Mr. Baako also cautioned Brogya Gyenfi not to be in high spirits over the removal of the two leaders from government.

But rather, he should "learn some lessons from what has happened" because "such things, you don’t take sides and even if you do, not in such public manner," he stated.

Mr also called on President Mahama to dismiss the Mayor of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, Kojo Bonsu, saying he (Mayor) has also contributed to the many misunderstandings that have rocked the region in recent times.

Wondering why the KMA boss is still at post, the Senior Journalist opined that the recent development in the Ashanti region was a threat to regional security, and that the disturbances it created for the region was worrying.
