Abiola Bawuah Is Overall Banking and Finance Female Personality of the Year

Mrs Abiola Bawuah, MD/CEO of United Bank of Africa (UBA) was adjudged the overall Banking and Finance Female Personality of the Year, 2014 at an awards ceremony held at the International Conference Centre in Accra.

The awards ceremony also saw Mrs Abiola Bawuah being awarded the female banker of year; while UBA’s innovative female tailored made product for discerning women RUBY, was adjudged the product of the year.

The awards which was organized by the National Women in Finance Magazine (NWIF) was well attended by high profile personalities from the Banking and Finance sector.

Honarable Mrs Mona Quartey, who was the special guest at the event congratulated the organizers for introducing such an award to celebrate women and encouraged the award recipients to coach young female professionals in their respective institutions to take up roles in finance and aspire to achieve greater heights in the industry.

Mrs Abiola Bawuah, on her part expressed her profound gratitude to the organizers for the honour and acknowledgement; and challenged her fellow female professionals not to relent in their efforts stay focused on their goal despite the numerous frustrations and challenges that confronts them as professionals in the financial sector.

The National Women in Banking and Finance has as its main objective to celebrate, motivate and inspire women in the finance profession to aspire to higher heights and serve as corporate ambassadors for female economic empowerment within the financial sector.
