There Is No Crisis In The NDC In Ashanti Region Kofi Adams

The National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress [NDC], Kofi Adams has stated categorically that the party is not facing any challenges in the Ashanti Region as presumed.

According to him, even though President John Dramani Mahama has relieved the Ashanti Regional Minister and his Deputy of their positions, there is calm within the NDC fraternity in the garden city.

“There is no crisis in the NDC as people are saying. It’s just a misunderstanding…NDC will overcome that. There have been serious issues than this in the party. NDC will still stand strong in the Ashanti Region…everybody should stay calm,” he said in an interview on OKAY FM’s "Ade Akye Ebia" programme.

On Wednesday, a statement signed by Dr Edward Omane Boamah, Communications Minister said the Ashanti Regional Minister, Eric Opoku and his assistant, Joseph Yammin must leave their post with immediate effect for allegedly fusing some wrath in the ruling NDC Ashanti Region office against the party’s grassroots supporters.

According to the statement, Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, Eric Opoku will act as the Ashanti Regional Minister until a substantive minister is appointed.
