Can Prez Mahama Win 2016 With His Snobbish Ministers?

One question boggling the mind of Mr. Stephen Atubiga, a member of the National Democratic Congress communications team has to do with whether Ghanaians would retain the leader of his party as president after the 2016 elections.

Although some members close to President Mahama are self-assured of a resounding victory come 2016, Stephen Atubiga thinks otherwise.

In an interview with Peace FM, the NDC communicator noted that with the crop of “snobbish” Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) and Regional Ministers surrounding the president, it would be extremely difficult for him to win the 2016 elections which he prays never happens.

According to him, the snooty attitude put up by the leaders charged some angry foot soldiers to lockup the party regional office in the Ashanti Region some days ago. His main concern is that for so long the grass root members of the party have been left in the wilderness whilst MCEs and DCEs continue to enjoy.

He pointed out that inasmuch as the grass root members would be willing to work for President Mahama to get his second term, the presence of his appointees with questionable attitude would make it extremely difficult for him.

“Their attitude and body posture is not helping. Most of them are snobbish and don’t treat foot soldiers well. We are the reason they have gotten where they are today but they treat us badly”, he said.

Out of frustration, Mr. Atigiba claims more units were shooting up from within the party and are ready to sign a joint petition which would be copied to the Flagstaff House and the party headquarters for them to know about their discomfort. Among the units to sign are the Bashaka Movement, Atta Mills Young Soldiers, Atta Mills Die Hard, JJ Grandchildren,  Alavanyo Boys and Azoka Boys etc.
