Ken Agyapong Supports Woyome: A-G Must Step Aside...Her Hands Are Not Clean

Outspoken NPP MP for Assin Central, Kennedy Attorney has sided with businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome that the Attorney General, Mrs. Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong must vacate her post with immediate effect.

Describing the AG as “unfit with unclean hands” to occupy her current post, he charged President John Dramni Mahama to relieve her from her office.

That woman [Mrs. Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong] is sitting on the fence. She is a disgrace…she should just leave her post. It is so sad President Mahama only appoint unclean people in his administration. I have a big problem with him,” he said.

Kennedy Agyapong was commenting on businessman, Alfred Woyome’s statement issued 13th March, 2015 that the Attorney General, Mrs. Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong must resign.

According to the statement, the AG’s decision to pursue him over the payment of judgment debts has placed her in a conflict of interest position because her firm benefitted from the 51million cedis judgment debt he was paid in 2010.

"I find it difficult to reconcile your decision to involve yourself directly in this criminal case and notice of appeal you have authorised to be issued and served on me.

"It is a fact that you and your clients received approximately $1million equivalent in Ghana cedis from the said judgement debt you now so much criminalise and want me jailed for," portions of the statement read.

But the Attorney General in a fierce rebuttal shot back saying Mr Woyome's letter was "dishonest, unnecessary and meant to throw dust in the eyes of Ghanaians" and vowed not kowtow to the whims and caprices of Mr. Woyome.

However, the Assin Central MP says Woyome should be lauded for unmasking the truth after threatening to also bring out documents citing former A-G, Betty Mould Iddrisu and former Finance Minister, Kwabena Duffuor for smoothing the Woyome judgement debt payment.

Speaking on Asempa FM, Ken Agyapong furiously quizzed “What is going on in this country?”

Woyome has made a very good point. The woman should step aside because her hands are not clean. I have said this several times that the woman rendered services to Woyome to collect the money and that was a fake service.

"...Elsewhere she would have resigned already….but in such a lawless country like Ghana, the president [Mahama] will rather elevate her post because President Mahama only endorse unclean hands has ministers,” he added on Asempa FM.
