Ill Miss Collins Dauda; He Brought Excess Water To Accra...

The Deputy Minister of Water Resources Works and Housing, Sampson Ahi has said he will miss his outgoing boss because he was instrumental in the provision of water to residents in Accra and Tema.

According to him, the Ministry has supplied water to residents of Tema and Accra following massive infrastructural improvements carried out in the sector.

The Deputy Sector Minister said the massive improvements recorded in the sector were largely because of the hard work of Collins Dauda’s vision.

Over the weekend, the President, John Mahama in his latest Ministerial reshuffle moved Alhaji Dauda from the Water Resources Works and Housing Ministry to the Local Government and Rural Development Ministry.

Mr. Ahi stated that although his outgoing boss is the initiator of many of the projects, the Ministry is still poised to improve access to water in the country. “There are a lot of projects he initiated and we are implementing them. In fact, if you look at the water sector alone that Alhaji Collins Dauda has done is unprecedented in the country,” he remarked.

Citing some of the achievements of his former boss, Mr. Ahi noted that in years past, “we were producing 93 million gallons of water daily whereas the daily demand was 150 million gallons so we had a deficit about 57million gallons.

Through the instrumentality of Alhaji Collins Dauda, we have been able to address the deficit and we now have a surplus.”

He was optimistic that the incoming Minister, Dr. Kwaku Agyeman Mensah ho has been moved from the Health Ministry “will certainly fit in his [Collins Dauda] shoes to continue but we will certainly miss him.”
