My Party's Loud Silence Over Woyome Saga Worries Me.. - NDC Legal Team Member

Lawyer David Annan, one of the counsel for Business Tycoon, Mr. Alfred Agbesi Woyome, who also doubles as a member of the ruling NDCNational Executive Committee's Legal Subcommittee, has expressed displeasure over the loud silence of his party’s communication machinery over the political twist in the Woyome saga.

According to him, the NDC Communication team has left their job of defending the ruling NDC government to him and other lawyers in the party over the political capital the opposition the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is making out of the Gh¢51 million Judgment Debt paid to Woyome.

Speaking on Okay Fm’s "Ade Akye Abia"  Morning Show, Lawyer David Annan stressed that the opposition NPP should be squarely blamed for the huge monies paid to Mr. Alfred Woyome as Judgment Debt for unilaterally abrogating the contract with Woyome.

He accused the opposition NPP of lying to Ghanaians over their submission that there was no contract with Mr. Woyome; indicating that the Supreme Court clearly ruled that the two parties (Government and Woyome) signed a contract, except that the NPP failed to secure Parliamentary approval.

...they claim Woyome didn’t play role in securing a loan for the country, how come Woyome was sued and was asked to pay $1 million dollars to the Austrian Company after NPP canceled the contract?...Woyome was the director of the Austrian Company that gave us the loan…..that was how Mr. Woyome paid the money to the client of Madam Marrieta Brew’s law firm,” Lawyer David Annan said.

Whiles opining that the Woyome saga was preventable, David Annan labelled the NPP as Judgment Debt Creators and indicted the opposition party for being responsible for the huge judgement debts hanging over the neck of the country like an albatross because of their bad intentions towards the country.

NPP created that debt and we have to pay the debt because we had not (paid it), the debt would have increased. We are blaming the NPP squarely for this problem but the NPP is trying to create a link between NDC and the Judgment Debt. It is for the NDC to come out to defend the party and it worries me that they have left the job for us the lawyers to do for the party. They should come out because NPP is making political capital out the Woyome saga”, he bemoaned.
