NPP Will Retrieve Woyome Cash - MP

Member of Parliament for the Obuasi East Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Edward Ennin says the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will retrieve the GHc51million cash from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) financier, Alfred Agbesi Woyome if the ruling party fails to do so.

The NPP legislator vowed that, an NPP administration will exhaust all legal avenues to compel Mr. Woyome to refund the money to the state.

Mr. Ennin made the comments on Atinka FM’s AM Drive hosted by Kwame Adinkra on Wednesday.

He alleged that, many government officials are deeply involved in the gargantuan scandal adding that, they must be prosecuted for their actions and inactions, which led to the loss of such a huge amount.

Mr. Ennin insisted that the state will lose the Woyome appeal if it does not present fresh evidence.

According to him, the NDC must not make the mistake of not retrieving the money, warning that the NPP will make sure the people of Ghana get their money.

Mr Woyome, who is a self-acclaimed financial engineer was acquitted and discharged on the count of causing financial loss to the state as well as defrauding by false pretense. However, an earlier ruling by the Supreme Court ordered Mr Woyome to refund the money because he acquired it illegally.
