Martin Amidu Is A Hero Of Our Time Kofi Jumah

Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Asokwa, Maxwell Kofi Jumah says former Attorney General, Martin Amidu is a true statesman who must be celebrated.

According to him, in spite of being a member of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), the former Attorney General in the erstwhile Mills administration is committed to exposing the “thievery and corruption” in government.

“Martin Amidu is the hero of our time and he must be celebrated,” he said on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme on Wednesday.

The Citizen vigilante, as he is popularly called, has played an instrumental role in government’s quest to retrieve the Ghc51 million illegally paid to businessman, Alfred Woyome as judgement debt.

Even when the state seemed not to be interested in the case, Martin Amidu pursued it at the Supreme Court and Woyome was asked to refund the money.

In his latest epistle following the acquittal and discharge of Mr. Woyome on counts of defrauding the state by false pretense and causing financial loss to the state, he said the Mahama-led administration impeded his efforts to secure favourable judgement against Woyome and his collaborators who defrauded the state.

In support, Kofi Jumah said the Ghc51 million may never be refunded because it will open a Pandora box.

He explained that Woyome’s collaborators who benefitted from the loot are holding high positions in government.

The former Asokwa MP underscored the need for Ghanaians to take their destiny into their hands and fight for their right.

Kofi Jumah called on well-meaning Ghanaians to join in the fight to retrieve the Ghc51million into the state coffers.
