NDC Gurus Pledge JM AllegianceAhead Of 2016 Polls

The aL-hAJJ can today report that contrary to media speculations that some National Democratic Congress kingpins are unhappy with President John Dramani Mahama’s leadership style and have threatened not to support his second term bid, information available to this paper indicates otherwise.

The aL-hAJJ can authoritatively confirm that though some party chieftains of the governing NDC may be brooding over claims of neglect under the Mahama administration, most of them this paper’s investigation has unearth, are unconditionally committed to playing key roles in ensuring the President retain power in 2016.

Without mincing words, the common refrain in statements some of the foremost NDC capos who spoke to this paper on condition of anonymity, was former President Kufuor’s profound maxim that “it is better to be a messenger in a ruling party than a General Secretary of an opposition party.”

“It is true that we may have our differences with John, and that is not unusual in every human institution…but one thing I can assure you is that none of us will work against him. In spite of our reservations about him, we are going to fully support him and campaign for him to comfortably secure a second term,” an NDC elder remarked recently.

Assuring that the NDC will prosecute the 2016 elections in unison, another senior member of the party, known for his grass root clout and financial muscle, noted “my brother, no matter the happenings in our party, we will not allow the vicious NPP to win the 2016 elections…trust me it won’t happened…wait and see what will happen in 2016. The 2016 elections is just around the corner, we will campaign and win in unity.”

“If you’ve studied the NDC carefully, you would have realized that by our nature we are slow starters. The fact that we are not seen and heard in the media that does not mean we don’t support John’s administration, of course, as said earlier, we may have some issues with him, but we will iron out our differences before the elections in 2016. We are not seen and heard in the media like previously because we are now of age so we thought it was time we give the up and coming ones in our party the opportunity to discover their God given talents,” an NDC linchpin stated.

For the past two years, media reports abound of how some senior members of the ruling party are fuming with intense anger over claims that President Mahama has sidelined them in the running of the government.

Majority of these NDC capos, media reports alleged, are complaining of not being consulted on critical government policies and as such have threatened not to support or campaign in furtherance of a possible reelection of President Mahama.

But some of the senior members The aL-hAJJ spoke to have denied ever threatening not to support the President for a second term bid; with one of them saying “no matter what, John is our own, we cannot abandon him…look, John has our full support and I can assure you that he will win 2016.”

Adding that, “if you know the NDC well you will notice that there has been no elections since 2004 that the party does not have ‘problems’ amongst its members, but we always bury our difference in the last minute where it matters most, to rally for victory, and 2016 won’t be different”, an elder of the party revealed.
