Homosexuality Is Demonic

Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG), Rev. Professor Emmanuel Martey, has described the acceptance of homosexuality by some churches as demonic influence which should be condemned.

The condemnation by the man of God follows the decision by the largest Presbyterian denomination in the United States of America (USA) to formally reognise same-sex marriages after decades of debate in June this year.

But reacting to the move by US Presbyterian Church, the outspoken Minister of God disclosed that following that development, PCG has severed its relationship with the Presbyterian Church in the USA.

“They have deviated from biblical principles,” Rev. Prof. Martey, who is also the chairman of Christian Council of Ghana, lamented.

He contended that the US Presbyterian Church was not a “bible-believing church” and Ghana would have no part in accepting a demonic practice.

“It is only the church…the true church that Satan is afraid of. Satan is not afraid of United States army or any other army. It is only the church…the church of Christ,” he intimated.

The Moderator explained that the only way for the church to remain powerful against the kingdom of darkness was to stick unswervingly to biblical principles.

He said his heart bleeds for any church that accepts homosexuality.

According to the Moderator, the church has been counseling any member in the church who has confessed to being a homosexual.

However, he indicated that the PCG would not go beyond this to accept the practice as right.

It would be recalled that the issue of homosexuality became news in the country in the early years of the late Professor John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills administration.

But, the late president categorically declared his stand not to make gay marriage legal.

The issue popped up again in the public discourse after President Mills’ demise when the Minister of Women, Gender and Social Protection under the current administration, Nana Oye Lithur, sparked a controversy claiming that gay marriage was a right which should be respected.
