President Mahama Attends Mamfehemaa's Funeral

President John Dramani Mahama on Saturday joined hundreds of mourners at Mamfe in the Eastern to pay their last respect to Nana Ama Ansaah Sasraku, Mamfehemaa.

 
     The funeral was also attended by Ministers of state, Nurses Associations, Traditional rulers from other parts of the country and politicians from political parties.
 
     President Mahama, who was accompanied by Mr Julius Asante, the Chief of Staff, donated GHC10,000, 10 crates of minerals, 10 crates of Guinness, 10 cartons of Beer, four bottles of schnapps and two bottles of black label Whisky.
 
     Also present at the funeral were; Clergyman and women, professional associations and chiefs and people in the surrounding towns.
 
     The late Mamfehemaa, who was born on January 4, 1930, was a professional Psychiatric Nurse, who had worked towards the upliftment of the profession everywhere she worked until her death on October4, 2014.
 
     She was installed the first Mmabaa Hemaa (female youth Queen) of Mamfe Akuapem to serve as a role model for girls in the Mamfe township and other surrounding towns in 1969.
 
     In the area of infrastructure, Nana Amma Ansaah was instrumental in the provision of electricity, pipe-borne water, places of convenience and the new road that links the Mamfe-Koforidua road to the precincts of the Mamfe-Akropong -Larteh junction.
