AGAIN!!! Gbevlo-Lartey Responds To Martin Amidu's 'Disjointed' Statement

Col. Larry Gbevlo-Lartey (rtd), Former National Security Coordinator, has described as disjointed and false a statement issued by Former Attorney General (AG) Martin Amidu.

Martin Amidu in a statement copied to peacefmonline.com on Sunday, 22nd March, 2015, responded to a comment made by the former National Security Boss on the facebook wall of Lawyer Sampson Ayenini. "Samson Lardy, I can assure you that was not the case on the matter of the sack.

Scandalised might be mild!” Gbevlo-Lartey said in response to an earlier statement issued by the man popularly known as citizen vigilante. Martin Amidu in that statement explained why he was fired saying "I had made it clear to the Mills/Mahama Government as its Attorney-General that no prosecution in the scam involving the over GH¢51 million will succeed by targeting Woyome alone without Waterville, Austro-Invest, Samuel Nerquaye-Tetteh, the Chief State Attorney whose spouse EOCO revealed had received GH¢400,000 from Woyome while he was handling the case as an Attorney for the Government, and others. I had suggested that Mrs Betty Mould-Iddrisu should be persuaded to be a prosecution witness in lieu of prosecution. The Government disagreed, so I was removed from office,”

However, the former National Security boss strongly believed Martin Amidu was not fired because of the reasons he (Amidu ) stated.

This led to the release of another statement by Martin Amidu in response to Gbevlo-Lartey.

Part of the statement said: "As for the incident of 13th January 2012 that he claims to know so much about, he was not present during the main discussion. Gbevlo-Lartey and Danquah, his deputy, came into the President's office, the forum, after the discussions had concluded and the meeting was being adjourned to 3pm to enable Captain Kojo Tsikata and Alhaji Iddrisu Mahama to join the meeting. He cannot, therefore, be talking of what really took place at that meeting from personal knowledge but from hearsay". Click to read full statement.

But in a rebuttal again on social media, Mr Gbevlo-Lartey said: "Martin lied and that is a fact he knows from the bottom of his heart that I know not from hearsay but by my witnessing and active participation both in the meeting he refers to so inaccurately and in the related matters both before and after. People who seek facts don't come with prejudice. They wait patiently. Truth stands and Martin lied and is even at it again the more with his new disjointed statement full of falsehood."
