Former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Mr Martin Amidu has denied media reports that suggest that he has been attacked and burgled.
According to the reports, Martin Amidu also known as “Citizen vigilante” was burgled at his home on Monday morning but in an interview on Accra based radio station, Citi FM, Mr Amidu warned those peddling such falsehoods to “stop.”
He explained that crying wolf could later harm him when there was real attack.
Mr Amidu has been very vocal in the controversial GH¢51.2 million judgment debt paid to businessman and NDC financier, Alfred Agbesi Woyome.
In the interview with Citi FM Monday morning, he revealed that he had been burgled twice in 2014 after making similar statements on the matter and reported the incident at the Madina Police Station but said nothing has come out of investigations as of now.
The anti-corruption crusader on Sunday released a statement in which he stated he was ready to lay down his life for the sake of fighting corruption in Ghana.
The former Attorney General (AG) has in the past few days been sparring with former National Security Coordinator, Col (rtd) Larry Gbevlo-Lartey over comments the latter made concerning his dismissal as AG.
Incensed by Gbevlo Lartey’s comments on Facebook which he felt was deliberately misinforming the public on why he was dismissed Mr Amidu responded and said they were all attempts to “cow” him but he will press on and defend the constitution of Ghana.
“I will not now be cowed and thugs can be sent to assassinate me should the Government or anybody wish, for all I care!”
Mr Amidu revealed life-threatening moves he alleged were being orchestrated by Col. (rtd) Larry Gbevlo-Larty on him,and he would soldier on with his determination to expose corruption especially in government and also warned to expose Gbevlo-Lartey should he persist to spread falsehood about him.
"There are other things to be said about my latter relationship with Gbevlo-Lartey after I left office should he persist in peddling untruths about me to which he has no personal knowledge."
“He had used cajoling with promises, threats, and intimidations on me with the singular intention of shutting me up. I will not now be cowed and thugs can be sent to assassinate me should the Government or anybody wish, for all I care! “
He accused Col (rtd) Gbevlo Lartey of sending Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) operatives to arrest and detain him for several hours on December 6, 2012 on the eve of the presidential and parliamentary elections but he [Amidu] decided not to go public with the incident then.
