NDC Stings Andah Over Parliamentary Ambition

The decision of George Andah, a leading member of pressure group #OccupyGhana, to contest a parliamentary seat on the ticket of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) exposes the hypocrisy of the group, the ruling National democratic Congress (NDC) has asserted.

According to the NDC, Andah’s move vindicates its suspicion that the group is a protégé of the Danquah-Busia-Dombo tradition.

The marketing mogul who played a key role in the success of telecom giant, MTN Ghana, has disclosed his intentions to contest the Awutu Senya seat come the 2016 elections.

Until his declaration, the former head of marketing for Guinness Ghana has been critical of the Mahama administration in recent times.

Reacting to the news, National Organiser of the NDC Kofi Adams said the party is not surprised at the move.

“Here you have a group that claimed that it didn’t want politicians to join them, now they claim someone can join them and still have political ambitions.

“It obvious they don’t have principles so they shouldn’t be talking about principles at all.

“We (NDC) know that #OccupyGhana is a creation of the NPP to prosecute a campaign for them but it won’t happen because Ghanaians have seen them,” he told Accra-based Joy FM.
