Buharis Victory: NPP Deluding Themselves With False Hopes NDC

The General Secretary of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) has said those riding on the opposition APC and Mahammudu Buhari’s victory in Nigeria’s presidential election to predict victory for Ghana’s main opposition New Patriotic Party and flagbearer Nana Akufo-Addo in the 2016 elections are deluding themselves.

The opposition supporters have been drawing some similarities between President-elect, General Buhari and their 2016 presidential candidate.

They believe that Mr. Buhari’s victory is an indication that a similar victory can be recorded by the NPP come 2016.

But speaking to Starr News, Asiedu Nketia, popularly known as general Mosquito said members of the Danquah-Busia-Dombo tradition are leaning on false hopes.

“They (NPP) are engaged in lotto forecasting, where they look into the skies and car numbers and predict lotto numbers.

“I do not think that their assumptions are based on any reasonable intellectual argument at all”.

Buhari, a former Nigerian army general who took power three decades ago in a military coup, beat the incumbent and main rival Goodluck Jonathan in a historic presidential election.

The 72-year-old stretched Mr Jonathan by about 2 million votes, a testament to the faith Nigerians have put in him as a born-again democrat intent on cleaning up Nigeria’s perceived corrupt politics.
