NPP Is Delusional...They've Resorted To "Lotto Forecasting" - Asiedu Nketia

General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketiah says it will be delusional for the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) to attempt to link the landmark victory chalked by Mahammudu Buhari in Nigeria's presidential election and Ghana’s upcoming polls in 2016.

Scores of NPP activists expressed profound optimism following the election of Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) as Nigeria's new President saying it will have a direct reflection on Ghana's elections.

The main opposition candidate in Nigeria's national elections, Muhammadu Buhari won the presidential election by 2.57 million votes, according to official results announced on Wednesday.

The Independent National Electoral Commission said the 72-year-old, from the All Progressives Congress (APC), won 15,424,921 votes or 53.95 per cent of the 28,587,564 total valid votes cast.

His nearest rival, President Goodluck Jonathan, 57, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), won 12,853,162 (44.96 percent) at the election, which was held on Saturday and Sunday.

INEC chairman Attahiru Jega said: "Muhammadu Buhari, of the APC, having satisfied the requirement for the law and scored the highest number of votes is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected."

Sharing his thoughts on Nigeria's presidential elections, General Mosquito as the NDC Chief Scribe is affectionately called, told Kwame Nkrumah Tikese, host of Okay Fm’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show, that the destiny of defeated Goodluck Jonathan has nothing in common with that of President John Mahama despite the fact that the circumstances surrounding their Presidency are almost the same.

According to him, well educated people should not deduce that because victorious Gen Buhari is as aged as flagbearer of the NPP, Nana Akufo-Addo, then its obvious it is a done for the opposition party in the next elections.

He maintained that the NPP is so bereft of ideas that the party is now dabbling in "lotto forecasting" just to keep hope alive, and urged the opposition party to rather focus on proper effective campaign if they want to have a glimpse of victory in the 2016 general elections.

They (NPP) are engaged in lotto forecasting, where they look into the skies and car numbers and predict lotto numbers. I do not think that their assumptions are based on any reasonable intellectual argument at all,” he said.
