Woyome Backers, Are They Stupid?...This Is "Smart Thievery"; I Will Whip Woyome If - Allotey Jacobs

Central Regional Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) Bernard Allotey Jacobs says the fact that businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome was able to ‘steal’ state funds and then later decide to refund the money is ‘smart thievery’.

The man popularly known as the ‘educated fisherman’ said even though some members of his party are supporting Woyome, he will not.

Businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome has promised to refund by the end of the year, the GH¢51.2 million judgement debt paid him by the state.

The Supreme Court Tuesday gave the AG the all-green to pursue and retrieve the money from Mr. Woyome.

The AG had filed an application at the Supreme Court (SC) to seek direction on how to retrieve the money.

One of his counsels, Osafo Buabeng, told SC panel of judges that his client will refund the Ȼ51 million judgement debt paid to him by December this year and had already met with the Attorney General on four occasions to discuss a payment plan.

Contributing to a panel discussion on PEACE FM's morning show ‘Kokrokoo’, Allotey Jacobs said “How can someone go and ‘steal’ such an amount of money and later come back and tell us he is going to refund? It is smart thievery and sometimes I ask myself; those supporting him, are they mad? Are they stupid? Anyway, it is up to them…if he tries going for any judgment debt again, I will whip him personally with a cane!
