Two policemen were killed and one injured when a speeding Kia truck rammed into them on the Tema-Akosombo road. The unfortunate incident happened at around 5am on Thursday April 2, 2015.

According to Adom News, the three were rushed to the Tema General Hospital but the two - who were in critical condition - died from their wounds.

The deceased were at the Operations and Transport units of the Tema Regional Police Command.  The third police officer who survived has been treated and discharged.

Public Relations Officer of the Tema Regional Police Command, ASP Juliana Obeng expressed shock at the sudden demise of her colleagues. She described the two as kind-hearted gentlemen and very hardworking officers in the Tema region. “Tema police command has lost two of its industrious men but God knows best”  she bemoaned.

ASP Juliana Obeng said the bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Police Hospital morgue pending autopsy.
