Facts

Presenting the facts of the case, Inspector Emmanuel Appiah-Kubi, told the court that the police had information that some people were selling the agro chemicals meant for the free mass cocoa spraying exercise on the open market thus defeating the purpose of the programme.

He said acting upon a tip off, the Abuakwa District police led by the District Commander, Superintendent Joseph Nyaaba went to the house of the suspect where the team retrieved various quantities of the agro chemicals stashed in sacks in the house.

He said some of the items were found in the leaving room, bedroom, toilet and bathroom of the suspect’s house.

Some of the chemicals found in the house included Ridomil plus, kocide, Fungi Kill, Metacide Nordox and Champion worth thousands of Ghana Cedis meant for cocoa farmers in the country.

When questioned, he said Nuamah claimed ownership of the items and mentioned her husband, Kwaku Nsuapim as her accomplice.
