Newlyweds flying in to surprise family for Easter die when their private plane crashes

Two newlyweds died in a light aircraft crash in Scotland while making a surprise visit to see family for Easter.

Dr Margaret-Ann Rous and her husband David – who had been married for less than a year – were killed when their private plane ploughed into a hillside.

They were flying in Mr Rous's Piper Cherokee from Dundee, where they lived, to Tiree, where Dr Rous grew up, to spend the weekend with her mother and sister.

But radar contact was lost at around 1.50pm on Saturday in the remote Beinn Lus area of Glen Kinglass, near Oban.
