Reassign Kofi Boakye and Face Our Wrath - Chief warns

The Chief of Asante-Mampong, Daasebre Osei Bonsu II has pledged his unflinching support for Ashanti regional Police Commander, DCOP Kofi Boakye.

According to him, he together with his subjects will resist any attempt to reassign Kofi Boakye from the region.

Daasebre Osei Bonsu II comment is in reaction to a petition by a group in the ruling party calling for the head of the police chief.

They claim DCOP  Kofi Boakye is in bed with the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) which in their opinion will affect the electoral fortunes of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2016 elections.

But Daasebre Osei Bonsu II while addressing durbar at Asaam near Asante-Mampong hinted that he will lead a street protest if government heed to such “unfounded” call.

“Kofi Boakye has done his work devoid of political coloration so we will resist any attempt to resign him” he stressed.

He noted that crime rate in the Ashanti region has reduced to the barest minimum due to the vigilance and hard work of Kofi Boakye.

Daasebre Osei Bonsu II said with the exception of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) who could transfer the very effective Police Commander they will not allow anyone to use his influence to have being him transferred.
