Revealed! Inside Story Of How Martin Amidu Exited Mills Govt

Citizen Vigilante and former Attorney General, Martin Amidu, has revealed how he exited the Late Professor Mills’ government and the follow up actions he took after he had left.

According to the former deputy Attorney General under Rawlings’ government, one of the print newspaper’s publication on his apology letter written to the President only exposed how the Presidency had been reduced to “a leaking pot of correspondence” and that there was another twist which was never published.

The man who single-handedly pursued obtained judgment against Alfred Woyome to ensure Ghana got back its GH¢51million judgment debt stated in a statement that he had never sought to hide anything and that the apology letter to the late President J.E.A Mills was requested by two prominent personalities after the then President demanded he withdrew his press statement dated 11th January, 2012, on gargantuan crimes committed by some Ministers of State and other NDC supporters.

“I have never sought to hide or conceal any signed letter of apology which was hand delivered by my Secretary at the Ministry of Justice to Prof. Kofi Awoonor on the morning of 18th January 2012 when he said he needed it for an appointment he had with the President that morning”, he stated.

Mr. Martin Amidu added that, because of his unlawful dismissal from government by the president he sued the state for damages and costs.

“Why did John Dramani Mahama’s Government, the NDC, or Larry Gbevlo-Lartey refuse to inform Ghanaians and the pitiful Alhaji Bature that I commenced an action in the High Court, Automated Court 2 against the Government of Ghana (per the Attorney General) on 30th July 2013 for amongst other reliefs: “(a) damages for breach of contract of employment effective 1st July 2009 and dated 25th August 2009”, the statement read.

He also opined that the ruling government would soon be found out as they have resorted to deceiving citizens by subterfuge and chicanery all in the name of propaganda and downplayed the integrity and honour of the Mahama-led administration and thus has described their actions as a manifestation of an endemic corruption in the governance.
