'Good Samaritan' Killed On Motorway (Photos)

A 35-year-old man, Alfred Agblewonu met his untimely death in the early hours of Wednesday April 8, 2015 when he was hit by a bus.

The bus, with registration number GT 5947-12 was believed to have been travelling from Ashaiman to Kasoa when the unfortunate incident happened on the Tema motorway.

Narrating the incident to Adom News an eye witness, Kwesi Adu, said the deceased was helping a schoolgirl to cross the road "but instead of him parking the bicycle (he was riding) and helping the girl, he was still on the bicycle while the girl walked beside him and was unfortunately killed by a passenger bus which was approaching”.

No one else was injured, but the passengers in the sprinter bus were said to be in shock.

Superintendent Williams Asante, MTTD Commander at the Airport Police Station who confirmed the death of the man said the body has been sent to the Police Hospital morgue.

He said the driver reported himself at the station and has been charged on a provisional charge of negligent driving.
