Former Kotoko Coach Hans Dieter Schmidt Pays Tribute To Michael Asante

Ex-Asante Kotoko coach Hans Dieter Schmidt has expressed his sympathy on the sudden death of his former player Michael Asante.
 
The German trainer has paid tribute to the ex-Great Olympics star who passed away at Elmina Hospital on Wednesday after suffering an undisclosed ailment.

The 67-year-old took to is official facebook account to express his grief to the deceased.

 “I am so sad. My former player of Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC Michael Asante died today in a hospital in Accra. He special was a very kindly person and a professional player. I will keep him in my heart forever. R.I.P. Michael.”

Dieter Schmidt coached the midfielder from 2004 to 2005 as manager of Asante Kotoko.

He is considered as one of the renowned expatriate coaches to have managed Clubs in Ghana having had stints with the likes of Asante Kotoko, King Faisal, All Blacks and Eleven Wise.
