A suspected armed robber has been lynched at Kasoa Nyanyano in the Central Region.
The deceased, who is believed to be in his thirties (30s), is said to be an ex-convict terrorizing residents in the area upon his relase from prison.
An eyewitness told Accra-based Okay FM on Thursday that the robber after exiting prison started attacking residents and making away with their valuables.
He was said to have broken into a shop this dawn and in the process of absconding with the goods in the shop, he was caught by some irate youth who subsequently stoned him to death.
“He is a criminal who was released not long ago and instead of him living a good life, he decided to go back to his acts again. He has called for his death because he has been terrorizing residents in the area..,” she said.
The body has been dumped in a gutter, but according to the eyewitness, the police are yet to arrive at the scene.
The action of the mob followed the spate of armed robberies in the area.
