Hearts Stamp Out Wa All Stars

A 45th minute strike from Richard Yamaoh was enough to give Hearts a vital win over Wa All Stars in their First Capital Plus Premier League fixture played at the Accra Sports Stadium yesterday.

The first-half almost ended goalless before Yamoah found the back of the net after Wa All Stars defense failed to clear a free kick that found him lurking in their area.

Though the visitors managed to threaten the goal area of Hearts on few occasions especially in the first half, they were unable the beat Soulama Abdulaye who was superb on the day.

The second-half was a slightly improved game for both teams but Hearts were the most determined to walk away with the three points as they kept the pressure on their opponents despite being a goal up.

All Stars however were the first to cause a stir in the 47th minute when Michael Mensah benefited from defensive blunder but his shot went off target.

Hearts then woke up from their slumber and took the game to their opponents as they created some good chances but Gilbert Fiamenyo was not in the form he began the season with as he could not find his foot to make any impact in the goal area.

Make their numeric advantage count as Joseph Adjei was sent off after he received two yellow cards mid-way through the second half.

Robin Gnagne and Isaac Oduro were in splendid form for Hearts while the defense of Wa All Stars manned by Akrofi Richard and Abdul Ganiu Ismail ensured Hearts did not go on a rampage.
