The Greater Accra Regional Minister Hon. Nii Armah Ashietey has criticized district assemblies in the country for being partly responsible for the insanitary conditions and illegal sitting of structures in various parts of the country. Making a statement in Parliament on the recent floods in Accra, the Regional Minister noted that District Assemblies have failed to enforce rules and regulations on sanitation and other by-Laws. Hon. Nii Armah Ashiety said the districts Assemblies failure to enforce by-laws on sanitation and location of structures has led to the sitings of kiosks, containers and other structures at unauthorized places. He said the roads and highways authority and the hydro division of the Ministry of Works And Housing are taking steps to desilt the underground drain on the Kaneshie � Mallam road and re-align some sections of the road.
