Awutu Senya West Seat not Cool Chop for NDC Andah

A New Patriotic Party(NPP) aspirant for the Awutu West Senya Constituency, George Andah has said the constituency’s seat is not safe for the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

If given the nod to represent the NPP, George Andah will contest the incumbent Member of Parliament for the constituency and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hannah Tetteh.

Hannah Tetteh has been elected on two different occasions as MP for the area but George Andah believes he can unseat her if he is given the opportunity to contest in the 2016 general elections.

Speaking on the Point Blank segment on Eyewitness News, the former Chief Marketing Officer at MTN said “I do not believe that the Awutu-Senya West seat is safe for the NDC.”

“Hannah Tetteh is my big sister and she has won in Awutu-Senya West twice, but nothing is impossible”

He believes the NPP can seat the ruling government in that constituency if they maintain a certain degree of sincerity and honesty. “I believe if we work hard and convince the people that we are not there to steal their money we have a chance.”

George Andah also stated that Ghanaians are seeking genuine politicians who will institute measures that will bring the country back on its feet. “We need people who want to make Ghana work not people who come to steal money,” he said.

According to him, Ghanaians are craving for what he described as “the new Ghanaian,” who will not accept the status quo in leadership, leaders who want to serve the people and are not interested in their personal gains. George Andah also revealed that he is still a member of pressure group Occupy Ghana.

“I’m still a member of Occupy Ghana and I believe that my experience from them is very positive.I know the pressure from my colleagues from Occupy on me will be worse than on others but it is good,” he said.

Many have described the group as pro-NPP but he denied such claims saying “Occupy is not against Government, Occupy Ghana is against bad governance,” he insisted.

According to him if he is elected as MP, he will still fight for the ideals of Occupy Ghana because they are essentially for good governance.
