Nana Akufo-Addos Presidency Will Restore Confidence In Ghanaians - Bantama MP

Hon. Henry Kwabena Kokofu, the Member of Parliament for Bantama Constituency has bemoaned the rate at which public confidence in governance system and structures have dwindled due to unfulfilled promises of the NDC government.

According to him, the heckling and the hooting of the deputy minister of Education in charge of tertiary education, Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa and the deputy minister of Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu by the students at the College of Education are indication of how fast the average Ghanaian is losing confidence in politicians.

Speaking on Oman FM’s "National Agenda", Hon. Henry Kokofu grieved as the NDC government has led a crusade where people will publicly walk out on politicians due to lack of integrity and dignity to meet the grievances of Ghanaians after voting them into power.

“It is getting to point where if you are a politician, people will hoot and walk out on you when you stand in public to address them. This is dangerous for our country and it does not help us that if there is integrity crises for NDC government and its ministers, it is our collective responsibility to find a way to restore that integrity and dignity,” he stated.

“This is why when NPP chose Nana Akufo-Addo I was relieved because his Presidency will restore confidence in average Ghanaian...if President Mahama could not do it, Nana Akufo-Addo can and will do it,” he added.

He stressed that NPP’s eagerness to come to power in 2016 is not only to address the economic crises and the perverse corruption prevailing in the country but also to instill some kind of confidence in Ghanaians.

He however assured that if Ghanaians give the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) their power and resources to manage, they will experience again the real and true ‘I care for you’ government in NPP and not the fake one being given by the NDC government.

He concluded saying, “there can be a better future if NPP is giving the chance but for now, the better Ghana has turned bitter Ghana under President Mahama and the NDC”.
