Woman Beats Boyfriend In Public

A Ho-based businesswoman, Kafui Keh, 53, has been arrested for beating and humiliating her boyfriend in public.

Kafui, a drinking spot operator is said to have slapped her man, a driver, three times and thrown away the cap he was wearing.

She is also said to have hooted at and called him an armed robber.

Police investigations, however, found no record of armed robbery against the man, whose name is being withheld.

Briefing The Ghanaian Times on  Monday, Assistant Superintendent (ASP) Isaac A.A. Ahor, in-charge of DOVVSU, said the fierce incident took place at about 7pm at the woman’s drinking spot near the Royal hospital, Ho  in the presence of the man’s two male friends and other members of the public.

According to him, the two have been in a relationship for the past two-and a half years, but did not live together, with the man often visiting the woman at weekends.

On last March 8, the man visited Kafui at the spot and she demanded GH100 from him, which he did not give her.

A misunderstanding ensued and Kafui slapped the man thrice, before people managed to restrain her.

Kafui admitted the offence in her caution statement to the police.

ASP Ahor disclosed that Kafui has been charged with assault and offensive conduct, and would appear before the Ho Magistrate Court tomorrow.

Meanwhile, ASP Ahor has called on men who suffer violence at the hands of their wives or girlfriend to report them to the DOVVSU.

“We have found out that a large number of cases of domestic violence against men go unreported because they find it humiliating,” he lamented.
