Police Hunt For Murder Suspect

A 25-year-old house-help was on Wednesday, murdered by a private security man in her residence at Dzorwulu in Accra.

The deceased, Safia Seidu alias Nashat, mother of a seven-year-old girl was allegedly stabbed by Rahman Adams, 25, of the Akaa Security Company, who was guarding the house and allegedly attempted to rape her but did not succeed.

Safia’s body was found at the entrance of her room in a pool of blood, with multiple wounds in the abdomen with her intestines gushing out.

According to the police, at the time of the incident, the employers of the deceased had left for the airport as they were travelling, while the gateman had gone out to buy food.

Both the deceased and the suspect were said to have been engaged to work in the house, three months ago.

The Airport District Police Commander, Chief Superintendent of Police Yao Tettegah who confirmed the incident to The Ghanaian Times said on April 22, at about 10:20 p.m., Sawadogo Alhassan Sullemani, the house boy in the house reported to the police that Safia had allegedly been killed by Adams who was on duty but had bolted.

He said a team of police personnel was dispatched to the scene, inspected the body, and took it to the Police Hospital mortuary.

Chief Superintendent Tettegah said the police had mounted a search for the arrest of the suspect to assist in investigations.

He said, investigations revealed that, the deceased told the driver that Adams had attempted to rape her three days earlier.
