NDC Chairman Suspended

National Democratic Congress (NDC) constituency chairman for Ekumfi in the Central region, Ekow Essilfie Buckman has been suspended indefinitely for disrespecting party members.

The suspension is based on Article 40 clause 1 of the NDC constituency, according to the Deputy Communication Officer for Ekumfi, Raymond Armah Mall.

He explained that the embattled chairman in a meeting with some polling station executives in the constituency is quoted to have said he cannot work with ‘uneducated people’ in the constituency.

This comment according to him infuriated party members who are not educated in the constituency who called for his immediate removal.

“I remember we went to a community to a programme and we were nearly lynched by party member because of this comment” he stated.

Raymond Armah Mall said they were left with no other option than to suspend him and forward the matter to the disciplinary committee for further action.
