Ken Kuranchie Files Nomination Papers

The Managing Editor of the Daily Searchlight, Mr. Kenneth Kwabena Agyei Kuranchie, popularly known as Ken Kuranchie, has filed his papers to officially contest as a candidate on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party at the Okaikoi North in Greater Accra.

Mr. Kuranchie, along with a couple of dozen supporters, were at the NPP office at Wala Plaza at about half past three on Tuesday to submit his forms to contest for the seat.

Before the filing Mr. Kuranchie and his friends had staged a brief walk from his residence at New Achimota to the party office.

Receiving the nomination papers, constituency chairman Mr. P. K. Mensah expressed the hope that that the upcoming contest would be devoid of insults and acrimony. He called for decent campaigning and wished all aspirants the very best of luck.

The constituency secretary, Baffour Akoto, said that from his checks everything was in order, and said that if there was a need for further clarification on various aspects of the nomination papers, he would not hesitate to call for them.

On his part Mr. Kuranchie said that since the Constituency Executive had managed to achieve the herculean feat of hiring a party office for the party, he would see what he can do to ensure that the office is properly set up to meet the needs of the party in the constituency.

Mr. Kuranchie was accompanied by several leading members of the party from the constituency.
