By-election Looms As Talensi MP Is Made Chief of Tongo
The New Patriotic Party Member of Parliament for Talensi in the Upper East Region, Robert Nachinab Doameng Mosore, has been enskinned Paramount Chief of Tongo.
He has been outdoored at Nalerigu, to replace the late Tongo-Raana Sapaalug-Namalteng Boara Yenga Kolbil.
Mr. Nachinab, who turns 62 in November this year, contested the skin in May 2007 along with 32 others but lost out.
GraphicOnline Correspondent, Vincent Amenuveve says the development is already engendering debates between officials of the NPP and the National Democratic Congress as the situation points to a by-election for the constituency.
While the NPP is confident of retaining the seat, the NDC says it is time to reclaim the seat they had ‘loaned’ to their political opponents.
