Sir John: Asideu Nketia Should Keep On Insulting The Oldies...His Time Will Come

Former Chief Scribe of the NPP, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie also known as ‘Sir John’ says he is disappointed in the General Secretary of the NDC, John Asiedu Nketia for his utterances against Prof. Mike Oquaye.

Asiedu Nketia described the former second deputy speaker of Ghana's Parliament, Prof. Mike Oquaye as a “confused old man” after the latter challenged the basis for the names shortlisted as possible replacement for the outgoing Chairman of the Electoral Commission [EC].

Prof. Mike Oquaye had earlier questioned the criteria used in shortlisting a successor for the Electoral Commission boss and emphasized the need for "broader and wider consultation" in order to determine an undisputable standard for selecting the new electoral commissioner.

But was later convinced that the people behind pushing this shortlist into the public, have a hidden agenda.

His assertion forced General Mosquito, as he is affectionately called, to instruct Prof. Mike Oquaye to “shut up” if he has nothing of essence to say on the issue but Sir John sees that as disrespectful.

I was listening to Asiedu Nketia on your station [OKAY FM]. I tried calling him after wards but to no avail. I was sad with his choice of words…he [Asiedu Nketia] is my brother and I least expect that from him. He should keep on insulting the oldies…his time will surely come. He should keep it up,” he said on OKAY FM’s "Ade Akye Abia".
