Public Urged To Sustain Enthusiasm In Sanitation Exercises

Residents in Asante Akim South have been asked to participate massively in the National Sanitation Day (NSD) exercise on Saturday, May 2.

Mr Kofi Agyei, the District Environmental Officer, who made the appeal, said they should put aside all other engagements and attend the three-hour exercise to help rid their communities of filth.

He said all was set for this month's edition of the exercise and called on the public to sustain the enthusiasm with which they had embraced the policy in the district since it was introduced.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) ahead of the exercise, Mr Agyei reminded the people that keeping the environment clean was the civic responsibility of every Ghanaian.

He said the District Sanitation Committee had made logistics for the exercise available to make it a success.
