NDC Now Practicing Theocracy - MP

New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Manhyia North, Collins Owusu Amankwa has scoffed at what he says is government’s attempt to make the citizenry belief the current socio-economic challenges is an 'act of God'.

He said the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) is now “shifting from democracy to theocracy” because Ghanaians are not buying into their vile propaganda.

The NPP MP’s comment was in reaction to a call on Ghanaians to pray for the Mahama-led government to accelerate the development of the country.

Eric Ametor Quarmyne in reaction to celebrities preparing to hit the streets over the erratic power supply popularly known as dumsor said demonstration not the panacea to end the crisis.

In his view, going on our knees and praying for God’s intervention in the energy crisis will bring respite to Ghanaians.

But Collins Owusu Amankwa, a co-panellist on the programme called the bluff of Ametor Quarmyne.

He said if prayer is the only solution to the dumsor crisis, then “the NDC should hand over power to Imams and pastors in the country” since they are closer to God.

The NPP MP cautioned Mahama-led government not to blame their “incompetence and inefficiencies” on God.

He said Ghana is on the brink of collapse due to the fiscal indiscipline of the Mahama-led administration.

Citing the dubious judgement debts paid to cronies and the gargantuan borrowing, the Manhyia North MP said it is evident the NDC only came to power to create, loot and share.

Mr. Owusu Amankwa added President Mahama has demonstrated beyond reasonable doubt that the presidency is too big for him hence must be booted out in 2016.
