Koforidua Poly Faces Closure

Management of the Koforidua Polytechnic is considering shutting down the school as it is currently operating without water and electricity supply.

Water supply to the Polytechnic was disconnected last week over unpaid bills.

The Registrar of the School, Nii Anang Mensah-Livingstone disclosed this to Adom News Tuesday.

He noted that the situation has disrupted academic and social activities on campus.

Nii Mensah-Livingstone said the woes of students and lecturers have been deepened by the disconnection of power supply to the school.

Nii Mensah-Livingstone says the arrears have been accumulating since 2014 so he is calling on government to intervene because the polytechnic has no money to pay the bills.

Meanwhile student of the school have threatened demonstration if the situation continues.

SRC President, Michael Wedaga Tigawuti says they are giving government and the school authorities two weeks ultimatum to resolve the issue.
