NPP Not Serious For Power Is Fallacious Gabby

A member of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Gabby Asare Otchere Darko says there is not implosion in the party.

He described as “fallacious” claims that the NPP is not serious for power because of little issues between party leadership.

The party is in good shape so NPP not serious for power is a fallacious statement anyone can make” he said on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Wednesday.

There is seeming tension among the NPP leadership after first vice Chairman; Freddie Blay convened an emergency Steering Committee meeting in the absence of National Chairman, Paul Afoko and General Secretary, Kwabena Agyepong.

Though they insist the decision taken by Mr. Blay was constitutional, the General Secretary expressed grave displeasure at their action.

This has fueled the perception that all is not well in the NPP with many questioning their readiness for power.

Many including political pundits have warned of dire consequences in 2016 if the NPP does not put its house in order.

But Gabby Otchere Darko gravely disagreed with people making such allusions.

He explained that a party in which about 94 percent is voted for the leader, Nana Akufo-Addo cannot be said to be divided.

Gabby disclosed that the NPP in “2000 was more divided than it is today” yet they went into an election and made a great impact.

“Let’s not behave like there is an implosion in the NPP because little issues among people at the top is not a true reflection of the sentiments of party people” he stated.

On the media frenzy, Gabby Otchere Darko called on party members not to panic because anything NPP sells.

“It is up to the party leadership to use the media publicity to impact positively on the party ahead of the 2016 general elections” he added.
