The Ex-Gratia Saga

The Managing Director (MD) of Bui Dam, Mr Fred Oware who was a member of the Chinery- Hesse Committee which prepared the fourth Parliaments End of Service Benefits (ESB) popularly known as ex-gratia, has dismissed the newly formed Committee called the Ishmael Yamson Committees report on allegations on the 2008 End of Service Benefits. According to a Daily Graphic report, the Ishmael Yamson Committee set up-by President Mills came out in its investigations rejecting the Chinery Hesse report as the basis for determining the facilities and privileges of members of the immediate past administration and Parliament, claiming, there were lapses in the preparation of the latter report. The paper further reported that the Ishmael Yamson Committee report reveals there was unsatisfactory signature in the Chinery Hesse Committee (CHC) report. Mr Oware who debunked the allegation on Peace FMs Morning Show Kokrokoo said he personally signed the report and saw no lapses or problem in it. He explained that the Chairman of the Committee, Mrs Chinery Hesse did not take part in signing of the final document because she was called to serve at the Presidency before the report was completed. According to him, the Chinery Hesse Committee report would rather save the country more money than whatever they want to do now, because they accessed the countrys economy before coming out with the final report. I dont care if they want to disregard the Chinery Hesse Committee report and use whatever they want, but they should not tell lies, he concluded.
