GARHC Registrar Clears Air

The Registrar of the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs (GARHC) Mr. Harry Attipoe, who was accused of aiding some 'illegal Ga kingmakers' to forward the Chieftaincy Declaration Forms (CD Forms) for both George Tackie and Yaote Oto-Ga to the National House of Chiefs to be gazetted as Ga Mantse and Ga Dzaasetse respectively, has dissociated himself from the act.

He has thus described the allegation of his involvement in the act as "false" and a "fabricated lie."

Harry Attipoe was accused by some Ga priests for engaging in fraudulent plot to Gazette George Tackie, a.k.a Adama Latse And Yaote Oto-Ga, when he was impressed upon by some elements within government to work on the CD Forms and forward them to Kumasi for approval.

However, in a swift rebuttal, Mr. Attipoe indicated that he had no hands in such activities and that he has on several occasions, when issues of such nature are brought to his outfit, instructed the parties to go and do the right thing.

"But after that you see another faction coming up with different issue which mar the already agreed position," he said.

He indicated that the Chieftaincy Institution is a sacred one and must be hold dear and respected; hence he would not compromise his position against the goodwill of the people and the Ga Traditional Stool.

Mr. Attipoe said, his hands are clean and that the allegations are baseless and unfounded.

The Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs and the National House of Chiefs have all indicated in a search report dated July 29, 2014 from the National House of Chiefs and 21st August, 2014 from the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs, as far as the Ga Mantse position is concern, that there is no Ga Mantse.

Also, Harry Attipoe, Registrar at the Regional House of Chiefs, in his capacity signed the search report to that effect.

But, fingers are being pointed at him sneaking a Chieftaincy Declaration Form (CD FORM) which he handed over to the Otublohum Mantse, Acting President of the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs, to sign and subsequently authenticate the position of George Tackie a.k.a Adama Latse as Ga Mantse and hence forward it to the National House of Chief for Gazette.

Meanwhile, Mr. Attipoe indicated that, he has not in any instance abused his position as a Registrar of GARHC and that people who are making such wild allegations against him must desist from it.

He called on the Ga Traditional rulers to put their house in order, work towards the common good of the Ga State so as to avoid and end this chieftaincy disputes.

According to him, much had gone on as regards the Ga Mantse seat, and the time has come for all to put hands on deck in doing the right thing.
