Founder and leader of the United Progressive Party (UPP), Akwasi Addai Odike believes NPP’s flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo can never be a president in Ghana.

He explained that, despite President Mahama’s indecisive governance beset with difficulties, Ghanaians will reject Nana Addo again in 2016.

Odike as popularly called in politics maintained that, Nana Addo can never be a substitute to president Mahama in terms of leadership.

“Nana Addo is absolutely not an alternative to President Mahama. He cannot lead Ghana. We want a good leader not the likes of Nana Addo. I am ready to debate him anywhere to tell him [Nana Addo] why he can’t be an alternative to President Mahama,” he lamented on OKAY FM’s "Ade Akye Abia" morning show. 

The flagbearer of the UPP is also unsure if his party will be given the opportunity by the electorate to replace the incumbent NDC in 2016.

According to him, Ghana needs a visionary leader not a “beggar”.
